Blue
is the color of the Tennessee River as it flows through the heart
of the Shoals.
Blue
represents the Blues, heard at the Alabama Music Hall of Fame, or
during the W.C. Handy Festival. Our music is heard at Norton Auditorium
when the Concert Association hosts a symphony, or at the Ritz Theatre
when the Shoals Symphony performs. We're known far and wide for
the "Muscle Shoals Sound."
Blue
is the color of our lakes, home to some of the best fishing in the
world. Wilson and Pickwick Dams create the lakes that so many of
our beautiful homes face; sailing, water skiing and fishing a popular
pasttimes in the Shoals.
Many
people think of the color blue when they think of the Shoals. Blue
water. Blue-ribbon fishing. Blue skies. And singing the blues.
I
love the soul of the Shoals. I'm a musician, and the studio I work
in could be located anywhere in the world. But the stars who come
here to record with us love the small town atmosphere and the easy-going,
laid-back style we've adopted. Where else could we end a recording
session by relaxing on a boat and watching the stars come out at
night?
