Stribling, a 1933 Pulitzer Prize winner who was educated in Alabama, lived and worked for a time in Florence, and used Florence as the location for the trilogy that included his Pulitzer-winning novel. This year, HPI has organized a program that combines a celebration of the work of T.S. Stribling (on the 100th anniversary of his graduation from the State Normal School in Florence, Alabama) and a showcase for a number of current writers with North Alabama ties.
